I was inspired for this painting listening to my father talk about the olden days of farming. I enjoyed listening to his stories of how farmers used to harvest the corn into bundled corn stacks and his depictions of pheasants in the corn fields.
Some Amish still harvest the corn this way - once the corn is cut close to the ground and bundled they are gathered by hand and stacked up in tee-pee style piles.
